Why does foil work on a touch screen?

1. Electroconductivity
If it is metal touch foil, it will have a certain conductivity. In the Capacitive Touch Screen, metal foil like finger changes the electric field distribution on the screen to detected by the touch screen. In the resistive touch screen, the pressure of the metal can make two conductive films to touch to cause resistance changes.
For some non-metallic but conductive touch foil film materials, the same can produce a similar effort on touch screen.
2. Thickness and flexibility
The touch foil is usually thin, which can simulate finger touch pressure to a certain extent. When foil touch screen, it can make the sensing layer of touch screen to produce enough changes to be recognized by touch screen system.
Meanwhile, flexibility of foil makes it to fit touch screen surface to ensure full contract with the screen to improve the accuracy of touch.
3. Size and shape
The foil can be cut into different sizes and shapes according to requirement to adapt size and shape requirement of all kinds of touch screen devices.
Smaller foil is used for precise touch operation. However, bigger foil can cover bigger screen area to achieve special operational requirements.
